Sooo ummm.. I just found out, according to Russian ballet, my perfect ballet weight is 28kg.
I can't even recall the last time I was that weight, when was that? Primary school I think, when I was maybe 10? Or even younger.
Apparently this is how you calculate the perfect ballet weight:
YOUR HEIGHT - 127 = perfect ballet weight
I wonder how about those under 127cm.
I'm guessing it applies to slightly older students, maybe like 11 or 12 year olds. I got this information from the director of a ballet movie called "A Beautiful Tragedy", its a documentary on a talented Ukrainian girl training at the Perm Ballet School in Russia. And I can tell you she is hell skinny. I calculated her weight from when she was 16 and now (19), and the verdict: she was always under her perfect ballet weight.
Seeing the food they eat? Hmm.. might be full of proteins but its not a meal definitely. It was literally a hamburger patty, thats it. It looked like a fat hamburger patty but still its not even a huge patty, its just small and fat. Hahahah XD describing the food was funny
But yeah, i can't imagine having that for lunch everyday, I'll get gastric! I'll definitely grow hungry.
At least the girls are not eating like salads alone, they have meat for protein so thats good. But the amount they're eating, maybe not enough.
I could be wrong, the camera could have been showing the part where the girl's almost done with her food. I only watched a preview.
But i just learnt that we can't just call them anorexic or super skinny, its the body type they have. They have a body type called endomorph, which is even if they dance ballet or not, they still will look skinny. I have a friend who is an endomorph. So.. just don't say they don't eat enough.
Its obvious Russian ballet isn't for me, it stresses too much on having long lines which i obviously dont have. Russian ballet is beautiful, long lines just makes it beautiful. Though my ballet style incorporates a bit of Russian style into it because I like the lines they create. Many teachers try to change my style a bit but whenever I try to change it just doesn't feel right, I'm either falling off the other side or I just don't like the look of the line.
Unfortunately my body isn't an endomorph, so I can't create lines as beautiful as endomorphs can.
Now its starting to sound like i'm talking about another human species, hahaha XD
I wanna watch the movie but I think its pretty limited cos its not a huge movie producer, he sells the movies off his own website so, no I don't think I can buy it cos it'll be in USD and its expensive. And as usual, my parents wouldn't wanna spend so much money on a DVD, anything thats media is 'wasting time and money'. Unless it came in a book form..
Oh and if you're a sort of person who think ballet's just ballet, read
this. I totally like the person who wrote this article.
